Term: LabVIEW

Definition:
LabVIEW is a graphical programming environment sold by National Instruments. LabVIEW is primarily used in engineering and scientific applications. In addition to creating stand-alone applications, it can be used to communicate with hardware such as vision, data acquisition, and motion control devices. LabVIEW has various extra modules and toolkits. Of particular interest to imaging is the Vision Development Module that contains a collection of image processing and machine vision functions. The DICE system is a LabVIEW application.
